JOHN VERNON WARD
1918-2004
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 13 at 1:30 p.m. at the
Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel for John Vernon Ward, 86, who passed
away Saturday, January 10 at his residence.
Mr. Ward was born January 7, 1918 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the
late Steve and Margaret Honeycutt Ward.
He was a retired coal miner and a farmer.
He was also preceded in death by wife Ruby Daniels Ward.
Surviving are four sons, Clyde and Garry Lee Ward, both of Willis,
Mich., and Glen and John V. Ward Jr., both of Van Lear, Ky.; one
daughter, Bonnie Marie Guzman of Waukegan, Ill.; one brother, Kermit
Ward of Warren, Ohio; three sisters, Ocie Webb and Pearl Robertson,
both of Plainfield, Ind., and Alka Mae Ward of Florida; 12
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Kenny Collins and Roger Hill, with
burial following in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.
