SARAH WELCH
1917-1976
Sarah Welch, 59, died Tuesday, October 19, in Highlands Regional Medical
Center after an extended illness.
Mrs. Welch was born March 28, 1917 in Johnson County, a daughter of the late
Marion Stapleton and Mint Cooper Stapleton, who survives.
She was a resident of Hager Hill and a member of the Collista Freewill
Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Hobert Welch, two sons,
James H. of Chicago, IL and Robert A. of Dayton, OH; two daughters, Janet
Sue Hoskins and Sherry Ann McCauley, both of Dayton, four brothers, Tobe of
Hager Hill, Marion, Jr., of Wabash, IN, Bill of Mt. Sterling, OH and Charlie
of Dayton; four sisters, Marie Rice, Mary Spears, and Bessie Spears, all of
Hager Hill and Hattie Rice of Dayton, OH and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 22, in the Jones-Preston Funeral
Home Chapel with Reverends Clarence Lemaster and Steve Branham officiating.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-
Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
