BERT CLIFFORD WELLS
1915-1985
Bert Clifford Wells, 70, died Monday, March 25, 1985 at his Van Lear
home.
Mr. Wells was born February 5, 1915, in Johnson County, the son of
Marion and Alice Burke Wells.
He was a retired miner and a member of the Church of Christ.
His wife, Jeanetta Penix Wells, preceded him in death February 2,
1984.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie Cottle of Pleasant Plain, Ohio
and Onedia Pauley of Charlotte, NC, two brothers, Ivory Wells of
Paintsville and Kermit Wells of Meally, three sisters, Garnetta
Rucker, Hattie Wells and Imogene Sammons, all of van Lear; and one
grandchild.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 28, 1985 in Jones-Preston
Funeral Home Chapel with Wallace King officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
