Denzil Wells, 84, of Roan, Tenn, died Saturday, June 16,
2007 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tenn.
Born Jan. 7, 1923, in Pike County, he was a son of the
late John Colvin Wells and Tessie Burke. He was an air
conditioning tech with N.A. Rockwell and a U.S. Marine
veteran.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine
Gullett Wells, in 1990.
Survivors include two sons, James Warren Wells of Roan
Mt., Tenn., and William Denzil Wells of Clarksville,
Tenn; a daughter, Doris Deana Wells Kirk of Westerville,
Ohio; three sisters, Racine Howard of Paintsville,
Grandalene McFaddin of Prestonsburg, and Doris McFaddin
of Seattle, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and several
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, June 20, at Jones-
Preston Funeral Home Chapel, Paintsville, with James
Kelly Caudill officiating.
Military services were conducted by Auxier Chapter 18
D.A.V.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery,
Staffordsville, under direction of Jones-Preston Funeral
Home.
