JAMES LEONARD WELLS
1950-1978
James Leonard Wells, 27, died recently in Pike County.
Mr. Wells was born December 17, 1950, in Johnson County, son of the late
Gene Wells and Lorraine Castle Wells, who survives. He was a resident of
Paintsville and a member of the First Baptist Church.
He graduated from Paintsville High School, attended Mayo State Vocational
School, graduating with honors in data processing, attended Lees Junior
College and Berea College and had been employed for two years as a clerk for
Heart O’Highland Motel.
Other survivors include a sister, Anita Justine Wells at home, and paternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Buster Baldwin, Paintsville.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 19, in Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel with Reverends Richard Williams and Herb Arms officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
Serving as pallbearers were Dave Conley, Phil McFaddin, Don McFaddin, Howard
McFaddin, Bobby Howard, and Bobby Spencer.
