PARIS WELLS
1897-1970
Services were held on November 16, in the chapel of the Jones- Preston
Funeral Home for Paris Wells, 73, who died three days earlier in a local
hospital. He had been ill for a long time.
A retired coal miner, Church of Christ member and Paintsville resident,
Wells was born in Floyd County to the late James H. and Elaine Goble Wells.
He was married to Alice Sherman Wells, who survives him.
Other survivors include two sons, Carl Wells of Springfield, Ohio and George
E. Wells from Winchester; three daughters, Mrs. James Arrowood of
Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Mrs. Fredrick Baldwin in Paintsville and Mrs. Williams
Arrowood of Boons Camp; two brothers, John K. Wells from Huntington, WVA,
and Fred A. Wells from Lancer; four sisters, Mrs. Angie Honeycutt, Mrs.
Woodrow Wells and Mrs. Add Selvage, all of West Van Lear, and Mrs. Willie
Burchett from Lancer, as well as 23 grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.
