ROBERT LEE WELLS
1914-1988
Former Paintsville resident, Robert Lee Wells, 73, died Nov 1 in All
Children’s Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL.
Mr. Wells was born Nov 30, 1914 in Paintsville, the son of Byron and Sophia
Meek Wells. He was a retired logistics officer with Wright Patterson AFB,
Dayton, OH, a member of Weslan United Methodist Church, St. Petersburg, and
a member of Elks Club and Fraternal Order of Moose, both of St. Petersburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Alice Ward Wells, in Dec 1966.
Surviving are one son, John Scott Wells of Paintsville; one daughter Mrs.
Bobbi Jean Yingling of Reston, VA; three grandchildren, Kellie Wells and
Courtney and Justin Yingling.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov 5, in Mayo Memorial United
Methodist Church, Paintsville, with Rev. Eugene Strange officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, with Paintsville
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers included Rev. Eugene
Strange, Mike Schmidt, Frank Wells, Jay Callis, Robert Yingling, John Scott
Wells, Robert Bayes, Scott Craft, John B. Wells, III and Ronald E. Ward.
