THOMAS ALLEN WELLS
1911-2000
Retired miner Thomas “Tommy” Allen Wells, 89, died Wednesday,
December 13, 2000 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Wells was born April 16, 1911, in Floyd County, to the late
Winfield and Sally Burchett Wells.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Hyden Wells, on
August 8.
Surviving are one son, Bobby Allen Wells of Paintsville; four
daughters, Ruth Bowling and Glenda Kay Hill, both of Hager Hill,
Doris Sue Robinson of Summerville, Ohio, and Wanda Faye Staniford of
Dayton, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel, with J.W. Holcomb officiating.
Burial followed in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
