WILLIAM LEE WELLS
1910-1987
Wittensville resident, William Lee (Bill) Wells, 77, died Thursday, April 23
at his home.
Mr. Wells was born April 2, 1910 in Johnson County, the son of Samuel and
Cynthia Spriggs Wells. He was retired from mining and a member of Toms Creek
Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Margery Preston Wells; one son, Vernon Wells of
Nippa; three daughters, Bonnie Jean Connelley and Patricia Ann Castle, both
of Wittensville, and June Wells of Orange, CA; one sister, Goldie Horn of
Stone; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 26 in Toms Creek Freewill Baptist
Church with James Kelly Caudill and Ellis Hamilton officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
