JAMES E. WEST
1903-1960
J.E. West, 56, died Tuesday, June 21 1960 ay 2:15 p.m., in the Lee
Memorial Hospital in Ft. Meyers, Va., of a heart attack following an
illness of five days.
The son of Jacob and Mary Greenlee West, he was born July 11 1903, in
Rutledge, Tenn., and had been at Fort Meyers for the past year, where
he was employed as a car salesman.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and operated a gift shop in
Lavalette, W. Va., for 12 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Mae Hall West, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Estill Hall of Staffordsville; a daughter, Evelyn Carrol, at home; a
brother, T.W. West, Chicago, Ill.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday from the Mayo
Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. Charles Perry, and Elder Lonza
Reed officiating.
Pallbearers were, Lon Butler, Arthur Ealey, Wallis Jackson Jr.,
Lonnie B. McKenzie, Robert Jackson and Charles Hall.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville.
