JOSEPH C. WILLIAMS

Joseph Crawford Williams, 82, well-known resident of Staffordsville,
died in a local hospital at 7:00 a.m., Sunday, July 10, of a heart
condition.
The son of the late Eliphas P. and Amanda Daniel Williams, he was
born at Flat Gap May 20, 1878, and was a member of the Freewill
Baptist Church.
He operated a jewelry store in this city for many years and was
widely known throughout the county as a watch maker.
His first marriage was to Clara Ann Davis Williams, who preceded him
in death.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lura Helton Wheeler Williams; one
son, William Davis Williams, New Boston, Ohio; a stepson, Fred
Wheeler, Staffordsville; a sister, Mrs. Newt Farichilds, Plain City,
Ohio.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, from
the Third Street Freewill Baptist Church with Woodrow Frisby, Bruce
Daniel and Willard Wilcox as officiating ministers.
Music was by the Paintsville Quartet.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville.
