CHARLES E WILLS SR.
1906-1974
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 22, for Charles E. Wills, Sr.,
of Van Lear who had succumbed to an extended illness at his home on
Thursday, September 19.
The son of the late Jake and Margarett Curran Wills, he was born December
18, 1906. Mr. Wills was a retired coal miner.
Surviving are his wife, Alma Coleman Wills, three sons, Charles E. Jr., of
Plymouth, MI, Jack Douglas of Levitt Town, PA and William Thomas of
Lynchburg, OH, two brothers, Frank Wills of Houston, TX and Ralph Wills of
Chicago; three sisters, Mary Preston and Anna Ruth Tootsie, both of Van
Lear, and Nell Himes of Vanceburg, and seven grandchildren.
Reverend Moses Kitchen officiated at the services held in the Van Lear
Freewill Baptist Church with interment following at Highland Memorial Park
at Staffordsville.
Serving as pallbearers were Jackie Wills, Jeffery Wills, Louie Spears,
Johnny Wills, Charles Chuck Wills, Steve Himes, Ricky Preston and Larry
Himes. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jones- Preston Funeral
Home.
