CYNTHIA IDA WITTEN

Cynthia Ida Picklesimer Witten, 89, died Sunday, September 28 in a local
hospital following an extended illness.
 
The daughter of the late George Washington and Caroline Conley Howard, she
was born in Magoffin County, April 28, 1886. A resident of Thealka, she was
a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
  
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. W. (Cub) Witten, in 1965.
 
Survivors include three sons, Paris Picklesimer of Waldo, OH, Payne
Picklesimer of Dayton, and Proctor Picklesimer of Brooklyn Park, MD, seven
daughters, Mrs. Dudley Robinson, Mrs. Paul Wood, Mrs. Charles Wood, and Mrs.
Robert Alexander, all of Indianapolis, IN, Mrs. Wilbur Roberts of
Bloomington, OH, Mrs. Sam Patrick and Mrs. Paul Prater, both of Paintsville,
four step sons, Richard Witten, Logan, WV, James Witten, Taylor, MI, Charles
Witten, Detroit, MI, and Homer Witten, Hazel Park, MI, three step daughters,
Anna Daniels, Tutor Key, Minnie Patrick, Morehead and Loretta Sparks,
Detroit, MI, and three sisters, Mrs. Jim Fairchild, Oil Springs, Mrs. Bill
Conley, Oak Hill, OH, and Mrs. Milligan Williams, Columbus.
 
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September30, in the First Freewill
Baptist Church at Paintsville with Reverend Lowell Webb officiating.
 
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
