LETTIE WOOTON
1904-1985
Flat Gap resident Lettie Wooton, 80, died July 11 at her home. Born October
21, 1904 in Leslie County, she was the daughter of Wayne and Adella Gay
Huff. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Lawton Wooton, April 14, 1975.
Surviving are six sons, Arbert Wooton of Chino, CA, Edward Wooton of Dayton,
OH, Homer Wooton of LaFollette, TN, Alvia Wooton of Grand Rapids, MI, Robert
Paul Wooton and Gray Wooton of flat Gap; and six daughters, Louette Sturgill
and Celia Salyers of Flat Gap, Maxie Gunther of Las Vegas, NV, Mable
Braunschweiger of Dayton, OH, Mary Trimble of Shepherdsville, KY, and Terry
Jean Keyser of Santa Anna, CA. Also, a brother, Horace Huff of Hazard; three
sisters, Mary Wooton of Corbin, KY, Sally Wooton of Sommerville, KY, and
Fatima Landers of Ava, MI; 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 13 in Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with
Glen Begley officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
