ALAMANDER BLAIR
1874-1964

Alamander Blair, 90, died November 4, in the Belefonte Hospital in
Ashland, following an illness of seven months.

Born at Barnetts Creek, June 10, 1874, he was a son of the late
Samuel and Meranda Lemaster Blair. A member of the United Baptist
Church and a retired farmer, Mr. Blair had been a resident of
Barnetts Creek for his entire life.

Survivors include his wife, Artelia Blair, whom he married in 1896;
three sons, Elder Prater Blair, Huntington, West Virginia; Gay Blair,
London, Kentucky; Wayne Blair, Oil Springs; two daughters, Mrs.
Conroy Trimble, Barnetts Creek; Mrs. Son Horn, Staffordsville; one
sister, Mrs. Lula Salyer, Barnetts Creek.

Also surviving are twenty-three grandchildren, sixty-five great-
grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted November 7, at the Caudill Fork
United Baptist Church, with the Rev. Sandy Phillips and the Rev.
Millard O’Bryan as officiating ministers.

Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.
