GARNETT GREENE
1909-1986
Garnett Bayes Greene, 76, died Sunday, August 24, in Highlands
Regional Medical Center following an extended illness Mrs.Greene was
born September 5, 1909, in Lawrence County, the daughter of FILMORE
and JANE BAYES.
She was a resident of Stambaugh and a member of the Sitka Freewill
Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Johnie Greene, who she married in
November, 1927; three sons, John wyne Greene of St. Louis, MO,
Michael D. Green of Mt. Vernon, OH, and Ted Bryan Greene of Newark,
OH; four daughters, Berneeda Baldwin ofGrayson, Arbara Huff of Sitka,
Lena Sparks and Lawava Sue Pennington of Stambaugh; and a half-
sister, Helen Dephew of Texas.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 26, in Sitka Freewill
Baptist Church with James K. Caudill, Bob Lyons and Jim McKenzie
officiating.
Burial was in Bradley Young Cemetery at Chandlersville with Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
