ENOCH M GREEN 1874-1951 Services Sunday For Aged Farmer Enoch M. Green, 77, Chandlerville, one of Johnson County's best known citizens, died suddenly at 10:00 a.m., May 25, in St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington W. Va. "Uncle Enoch" as he was known to his friends was the father of 14 living children. His death came as a shock to his family as he was thought to be convalescing satisfactorily from a major operation when he suffered an attack and died suddenly. Born in Morgan county, August 4, 1874, the son of Jimmie and Vina Craft Green, he had been a resident of this county for 70 years, where he followed farming as an occupation. He was a member of the United Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Lida Margaret Salyers Green, eight sons and six daughters, Elva Green, Flint, Mich., Estill Green, Vandyke, Mich., Jim Green, Sitka, William Green, Plain City, Ohio, Otto Green, Stambaugh, Roman Green, Racine, Wis., Elmer and John Green, Chandlerville, Mrs. Lewis Stambaugh, Mrs. John Davis, Mechanicsburg, Ohio, Mrs. Frank Branham, Sitka, Mrs. J. H. Spencer and Mrs. Bascom Daniels, Louisa. Also surviving are 39 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, May 27, at the residence by Elders F. F. Rigsby and Culley Sparks. Interment was made in the family cemetery at Chandlerville by Guy W. Preston Funeral Home. PAINTSVILLE HERALD May 31-1951
