VIRGIL GREEN 1900-1955 County Man Dies In Ashland Hospital After Long Illness, Virgil Green , 55, lifelong resident of Johnson County died Thursday in an Ashland hospital following an illness of two years. The son of the late Willie A. and Elizabeth Bayes Green, he was born March 29, 1900. He was a miner by occupation. Surviving are four sons, Ernest Green, Columbus, Ohio, Danny Green Michigan, Jimmie and Paul Willis Green, both in the U.S. Air Force: three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Atherton, Detroit, Mich, Mrs. Cora Lee Preston, Columbus, Ohio, and Elizabeth Ann Green, Crockett, Ky.; and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl White, in Ashland, and Mrs. June Salyer Huntington, W. Va. Funeral services were conducted Sunday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. White, in Ashland, with the Rev. Alfred Slone officiating. Burial was made in the family cemetery at Chandlerville under the direction of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald Sept 28, 1955
