MOLLIE STAPLETON

Mrs. Mollie Burton Stapleton, 58, lifelong resident of Johnson
County, died Sunday, February 7, 1954, at a local hospital
following an illness of two weeks.

The daughter of L. T. and Vina Chandler Burton of this city, she
was born May 15, 1895 at Chandlerville. She had been a resident
of Paintsville for twelve years.

A courageous and kindly Christen woman, she valued the work of her
church as her most prized possession and gave willingly of her
time to its efforts. She was a member of the First Church of God.

She was preceded in death November 13, 1950 by her husband,
Fielden Stapleton.

Surviving besides the parents are four sons, Denver and David
Stapleton, both of Paintsville, Davis B. Stapleton, Cleveland,
Ohio, and John Marion Stapleton, Berea; six daughters, Mrs. Carmel
Ward, Williamsport, Mrs. Earl Thomas Castle, Nippa, Mrs. Norman
Simpson, Ypsilanti, Mich., Mrs. George Combs, Detroit, Mich., and
Mary Lou and Eulah Jean Stapleton, both of Paintsville.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Sanford Chandler of Danville
and Mrs. Russell Chandler of this city.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of
God in Stafford Addition with
