JAMES EDWARD HITCHCOCK
1900-1985
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 26 for James Edward “Eddie”
Hitchcock, 85.
Mr. Hitchcock died December 23 at the home of his son, Willie Hitchcock of
Hager Hill.
He was born June 1, 1900, in Johnson County, the son of General and Mary Ann
Frazier Hitchcock. He was a retired miner and a member of the United Baptist
Church.
His wife, Hannah Baldwin Hitchcock preceded him in death Sept. 26, 1983.
Surviving are a son, Willie Hitchcock; 2 daughters, Bethel Blair of Denver
and Betty Lee McCarty of Wabash, IN; 3 sisters, Dicie Baldwin and Alta
Baldwin of Denver and Bessie Blair of Oil Springs; 23 grandchildren; several
great grandchildren.
Elders James H. Blair, Rutherford Blair, Jerry Colvin, and Lonza Reed
officiated at services in Beechwall United Baptist Church at Leander.
Burial was in Sam Blair Cemetery at Denver with Paintsville Funeral Home in
charge of arrangements.
