ALPHA SALYER
1905-1974
   
Alpha Salyer, 69, of Sitka, died in a Huntington, WV hospital last
Wednesday, June 12 following a brief illness.
  
Born May 30, 1905, Mr. Salyer was the son of the late Isaac and Nora
Burton Salyer. He was a retired clerk and member of the United Baptist
Church.
  
Surviving are his wife, Junie Green Salyer, two daughters, Mrs. Doris
McCown of Flint, MI and Mrs. Pauline Brooks of Ashland, eight
grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three brothers, Carl Salyer of
Dyer, IN, Virgil Salyer of Charleston, WV, and Rennie Salyer of Ashland
and a sister, Mrs. Tera Williams of Sedalia, OH.
  
Funeral services for Mr. Salyer were held Saturday, June 15, in the Old
Hood United Baptist Church with Reverends O. I. Williams, Buel Ferguson
and Arnold Reed officiating.
  
Burial was in the Chandler-Pack Cemetery at Chandlersville with
arrangements under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
