Denver J. Stapleton, 47, drowned while swimming in the Green River near
Sebree, KY on Saturday, July 12.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, July 15 in the chapel of the
Jones and Preston funeral Home with Jerry Ginnan, pastor of the First
Christian Church of Paintsville, officiating.

Burial was in the Chandler-Pack Cemetery at Chandlerville.

The Jones and Preston Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Born in Ashland on September 22, 1921, he was the son of Fielden and
Mollie Burton Stapleton. He was employed as a welder and resided at
Birmingham, AL at the time of his death.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Resch of Biloxi, MS; three
brothers, David Stapleton of West Van Lear, John Stapleton of Frankfort,
and Don Stapleton of Detroit, MI, six sisters, Mrs. Betty castle, of
Nippa, Mrs. Earlene Combs of Wittensville, Eula Stricklin of Jackson, MS,
Mrs. Neva Ward of Kennwick, WA, Mrs. Peggy Simpson of Ypsilanti, MI and
Mrs. Mary Cotner of Columbus, OH.
