Ruth L. SEYMOUR was born October 13,1899 at Onarga, Illinois. She was the daughter of Ulysses B. and Clara B. Eversole DAUGHARTHY.
Ruth grew up with her twelve brothers and sisters on a farm just east of Ottawa.
On July 18, 1929, she was united in marriage to James Owen SEYMOUR in Ottawa. They were married for over 51 years before the death of Mr. SEYMOUR on March 28, 1981.
They resided on a small farm north of Rantoul for over fifty years, where she was a homemaker. After the death of her husband, Ruth moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, where she resided at Baptist Nursing Center for the remainder of her life.
She was a longtime member of the Ruhamah Baptist Church near Rantoul.
She is survived by two sons, James O. SEYMOUR, Jr. of Murrysville, Pennsylvania, and Edgar W. SEYMOUR of Freeville, New York: step-daughter, Nadene PETERS of Ottawa; step-son, Harold J. SEYMOUR of Manhattan, Kansas; one brother Beverly DAUGHARTHY of Rt. 2, Ottawa; and eight grandchildren.
Ruth was a dedicated wife and mother. She was well known in the Rantoul community, and enjoyed working in her church. She will be fondly remembered by everyone.
