John Gemmill DAVIS⁹⁰⁰⁵ was born on 11 August 1929 in Altoona, Blair Co., PA. He graduated in 1947 from Altoona High School, Altoona, Blair Co., PA. He died on 24 September 2005 at the age of 76 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Stark Co., OH.

John Gemmill Davis, age 76, of North Canton passed way in Mercy Medical Center on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, following a battle with Wegner Disease.
Born in Altoona, Pa., on Aug. 11, 1929, to the late John and Erma Davis, he was a 1947 graduate of Altoona High School and attended Drake University. He went to serve his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War, and he played in the 298th Army Band in Berlin, Germany. John was an accomplished musician. He studied music under Max Adkins in Pittsburgh and played with different bands in the area as well as the Butler County Symphony Orchestra. He was an employee of Polymer Packaging Company where he retired from in 2004. Previously he worked for 30 years in the Banking Industry. John was also an avid golfer and even achieved Blue Coat Status at Brookside Country Club where he was a member and was also a member and past president of Union Country Club of Dover.
John was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church of North Canton as he as the founder and leader of the Men's Group.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Davis, who went to be with the Lord as an infant.
His wife, two sons, three grandchildren, a sister, brother and two nephews and one niece survive him.
