ASHTABULA - John D. Riley, 90, of Ashtabula, OH, died Saturday afternoon, January 17, 2004, at the Rae-Ann Nursing Home of Geneva, OH, where he had resided for the past few years.
Mr. Riley was born on March 21, 1913 in Huntingdon, PA, the son of Edward and Mary (Vallance) Riley and has been an Ashtabula, OH resident since moving here in 1950.
Mr. Riley was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served during W.W. II until he was honorably discharged in 1945.
Mr. Riley was employed by the former Union Carbide of Ashtabula, OH for more than 25 years, retiring in 1976.
Mr. Riley was a life member of V.F.W. Post #943 of Ashtabula, and former member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth A. McCullough Meaney, Clara Galliazzo, both of Ashtabula, OH, and Martha Albright of Claysburg, PA; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Olive L. (Jenkens) Riley; sons, John, Bryan, and Gregory; and sisters, Emma, Minnie, Malinda, Elsie, and Bessie.
Memorial Services will be held at the convenience of the family in Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula Township, OH.
