Kathleen S. Tate, 81, a resident of the Sayre House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sayre, and formerly of Pine Glen, Karthaus, passed away early Tuesday Morning, July 17, 2007 in Sayre.
Born December 4, 1925 in Curwensville, she was the daughter of William Grant and Lydia (Owens) Smith.
Mrs. Tate was a homemaker, was a former member of the Burnside Township Board of Elections, and the Bridge club of Snowshoe. She was United Methodist by Faith and also had attended the Lock Haven University of Pa.
On January 14, 1946 in Maryland she wed Thomas G. Tate who preceded her in death on August 22, 1979. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are six children: Sandra Tate Lovell and husband Charles Lawton of Harrisburg, Thomas L. and wife Gayle Tate of Nashville, TN, Michael L. and wife Julia Tate of Greenville, SC, Stacey L. and wife Valerie Tate of Cincinnati, OH, Jeffrey L. and wife Cheryl Tate of Howard, PA, and Bryan W. and wife Pamela Tate of Athens, PA,

Services for Mrs. Kathleen Tate will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Saturday July 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Jennett Wertz officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday July 20 from 7 to 9 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM until time of services.
The family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Clearfield County Unit, 26 S. Second St. Suite 102, Clearfield, PA 16830.
