OBITUARY

Bernice V. SEYMOUR was born September 13, 1906 near Linn, Kansas to E. Baton and Ellen McGregor WHIPKEY. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Junction City, PSI Chapter, PHI State, of Delta Kappa Gamma International, Business and Professional Women, American Association of University Women, the Geary County Community Hospital Auxiliary, The Order of the Eastern Star, Retired Teachers of Junction City, Ladies Reading Club of Junction City, Kansas and National Association of Retired Persons.
Mrs. SEYMOUR taught school in Washington County and in Junction City for thirty-four years. She established the remedial reading program in the public schools in Junction City. She was a graduate of Washington, Kansas High School, Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia and held a Masters Degree from Kansas State University.
For the last number of years the Seymour's have spent the winter months in McAllen, Texas where Mrs. SEYMOUR was an active member of the Genesis Sunday School Class of the St. Mark United Methodist Church and the social programs of the McAllen Mobile Park. She and her husband travelled extensively throughout the world during the last twenty-five years.
She was married August 4, 1931 to Fred SEYMOUR, at her parental home. He survives.
Other survivors include a son Fred Robert SEYMOUR, Brookings, South Dakota, a daughter, Ann UKENA, Topeka and three grandchildren.
