See the cross on the Alice J. Koayor(sp?) land? There was a school above it and also a church. This should be along Nebraska Avenue today. Not included with any cemetery listings, so may be destroyed. On the 1870 map of Canaan Township it is the only cemetery shown. Sheridan Cemetery began in 1870 and Trinity Cemetery a few years later. If you look at the plat map of 1859 only the NW corner and the SW corner of Canaan Township had many settlers. A lot of the rest of unsettled. This cemetery would have served the NW corner of the township and probably Ebenezer Cemetery the SW corner of the township.
