Located on the line of section 4 with 3 section. One map
shows it going into section 3. It is to the north of H28 or 170th
Street, as you drive towards Mount Union and is between Oasis Avenue
and Penn Avenue. First burial was in 1870 and there are at least 80
burials. It was damaged by a tornado in 2003 and has been well
repaired. Some stones were even raised up out of the ground with new
bases made.
The sign to Sheridan Cemetery. From the 1895 plat map we
see that the Sheridan school house sat in front of the
cemetery.
The cemetery as seen from the road.
As you walk in. I believe from maps I studied that the
Sheridan school sat in front of the cemetery.
Looking from the west towards the NE corner and believed
to be somewhat the path of the tornado.
Looking from west back towards the road or
SE.
This is one of the stones damaged by the tornado. I did
not chalk it.
