Students, Teachers, Board Members

STUDENTS, TEACHERS,

AND BOARD MEMBERS

During our first visit to the Sunny Hillside Museum we found so many wonderful items.  Much of which I wish now I had obtained copies of.  But, one of things I did manage to get was a copy of a transcribed summary of records for all of the years the school was in operation.  It consists of eight pages of  transcribed  notes containing all of the students in the year they enrolled and the teacher for that year. It also includes cost of  each year and some interesting notes so, even if you don't find your ancestors on this page the originals make for some very interesting reading.

In order to make your search for your ancesters easier on these pages I have taken the names of the students, teachers, and board members and tried to make a simple alphabetized list for you to search.  It is in no way a substitute for the orginal copies but,  will make it easy for you to do a quick search.  The original page number is included with each name.  To view this list simply click on the pencil below,  you can use the CTRL+F keys on your pad to search your surnames, however if they do not show up it may be because the spelling is varried.  You may want to search the list in this case.

Notes:  Beginning page 5 1899-1900 we are no longer given the age of the child nor the name of the parent.  I have added the parents names to the Gutzman family because I happen to know who they are.  If you would like to add information to your family please let me know by email.  I will be happy to do so.

I have kept all spellings according to the way they are on the paper.  If you find one that may be wrong or would like to correct, I will do that also.

To view the originals simply click on the page numbers below.

This was yet another find at the Museum.  The Society had to have been formed sometime before 1901 as Dan Gutzman and Bessie Babcock were married in that year, and Bessie is listed by her maiden name.  The first page consists of the rules for the society and the second gives a list of the members.  The other pages consisted of notes for following sessions.  If I ever get the chance to get there again I will get the rest copied.  There were some very interesting notes especially on the subject of womens rights.  Plesse click on the thumbnails to view readable image.
