1. Moses M Sides1
was born about 1815 in North Carolina.1,2 He appeared in the census in 1840
in North Carolina, Montgomery Co, page 4. He appeared in the census
in 1850 in North Carolina, Iredell Co, 24/July, Family# 69. He died
between 1860 and 1870. He appeared in the census in 1860 in Illinois,
Montgomery, Irving PO, page 287, 24/July, family# 2082. He is reference
number 2012. During my internet research I have come across some
variations as to who Moses father is. Some say, Mathias Sides, who did have
a son Moses, and others say Christopher Sides. I am inclined to believe it was
Christopher due to the names of Moses children. The first son born is Christopher,
and the first daughter born is Esther. Christopher's wife was Mary Esther.
Mathias Sides found in the 1850 census has a Moses listed with him as being age
28, clearly not our Moses since he is found in the 1850 census
age 35 head of his own household.
