WILLIAM LEO McCRACKEN worked on the farm east of Bayard for 25 years and was also known as a horse trader. Later in his working life he worked at the Sioux Ordinance Depot, Sidney, Nebraska. His military service was during WWI. PFC CAS DET, 1272  DEMOB GP. He and brother Ed went to Liverpool, England and then across to France.
