Kenneth E. Swartz, 65, of Moberly died Friday at 11:50 a.m. at Moberly Regional Medical Center.

At 10:58 a.m. Friday, Randolph County personnel reached the scene in the 600 block of Farror where Swartz fell while walking.

Full cardiac arrest had occurred and the paramedics worked on him for 25 minutes before transporting him to Moberly Regional Medical Center.

Attempts were made at the hospital to restore heart action before he was pronounced dead.

Deputy Sheriff Ernie Anderson, acting coroner, ruled death was by natural causes.

He was born Dec. 29, 1918 in Madison to Ray and Gertie Fisher Swartz.

Mr. Swartz was an army veteran of World War II, he was a farmer in stock and agriculture and a truck driver for Land Construction of Moberly. He was a board member and deacon at the Middle Grove Disciples of Christ Church. He was a member of the Moberly VFW.

He married Martha Bates, Aug. 31, 1946, in Jefferson City, MO and she survives of the home. He is also survived by his daughter Mrs. Wayne (Janice) Posey, Centralia; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Swartz, Madison; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Barron and Norma Jean Swartz, both of Madison and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Middle Grove Christian Church. Mr. Swartz will lay in state at the church from 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery and visitation will be Saturday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cater Funeral Home.
