Martha L. Swartz, 83, of Madison formerly of Moberly died Thursday September 20, 2007 at Wild Wood Care Center near Madison.

Mrs. Swartz was born December 29, 1923, in Primrose, Nebraska to Otto and Mamie (Brezile) Bates. She married Kenneth Swartz August 31, 1946 in Jefferson City and he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a daughter Janice and her husband Wayne Posey of Centralia, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, brother Bill Bates of Madison, sister Margaret Hoard of Moberly, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
