(William McCoy4, John3, Otho2, John1) was born Mar 27,
1855 in Highland Co, VA, and died Apr 12, 1933 in La Monte, Pettis Co, MO. He
married Anna Margaret Snoddy Oct 14, 1886 in Pettis Co, MO, daughter of William Snoddy
and Eleanor Brown. She was born Jun
10, 1864 in Pettis Co, MO, and died Dec 4, 1944 in La Monte, Pettis Co, MO.
He was one of the largest land owners and
cattle feeders of the county. He was a Knights Templar Mason, a member of the
Mystic Shrine and a member of Modern Woodmen of America. Mayor
of LaMonte. On Board of
Directors of LaMonte Bank. In 1914, He built a
magnificent fourteen-room residence in LaMonte. One
of the finest homes in Pettis Co., built of stone and
stucco and is known as "Wayside Farm." Member of LaMonte Christian Church. Buried
at La Monte Cemetery.
