Elizabeth HUGH[HOUGH] was the widow of John HOUGH who was in the Revolutionary War. (He was born 2 Mar
1761-died 20 Mar 1847). He married on 25 Dec 1815 in Anson Co. to Elizabeth NEWTON (b.1798-d.1892).
John
was the son of Hezekiah HOUGH and Elizabeth INGRAM. He was a Private in the NC Line from Northampton
Co, NC in the Company commanded by Capt.
Bum of the Regiment commanded by Col.
Sewell. Later moved to Anson Co, NC. He was awarded a pension of $20 per
annum to commence on 4 Mar 1831. His widow applied for pension in 1853. After
the Civil War, she also applied that the pension be reinstated. Widow’s pension
certificate #2770.

of the German/Jarman family, he states that Willis’ widow was Dilia TEAL,
his 2nd wife.
