heretofore been employed in the office as Foreman. We regret very much to part with Mr. CAMERON, who found it necessary to turn
his attention to other business. Mr. FULTON is a good printer, and we are
encouraged to believe that he will give entire satisfaction to the old friends
of the Argus as an Editor. The politics
of the paper will undergo no change.

great struggle of his country for liberty – was placed as guard in the battle
at Camden when GATES was defeated – afterward aided as one of a scouting
party to subdue the Tories…

Jr., in the 59th year of her age.

learn that on Monday last, Parham KIRK, Sr., of Stanly county, met with
an accident which caused his death. He was riding upon a load of lumber when
the jolting of the wagon throwing him off his balance, he fell to the ground
and the wheels passing over his body caused his death in a short time. He was an aged and respectable citizen, and
held the office of
sheriff many years ago.

late residence of her grandfather, John LEE, Miss Sarah LEE, in
the 18th year of her age… Her mother, Mrs. Winnie LEE has
passed through many painful vicissitudes of life – has been twice married, both
of her husbands dying prematurely. Yet she had a hope in her three lovely
children, Rosa, Sarah and John… [lengthy
obituary says she lost her other two children in late July from the same
disease.]

Co., N. C., 23d Nov. 1856, Elisabeth CRAIG, in
the 63 year of her age. Her disease was Pneumonia…connected herself with the
Associate Reformed Congregation worshipping at Tirza.
After her marriage she transferred her membership to Shiloh, an Associate
congregation, her husband being a member of that body. When these congregations
united, she returned to Tirzah for convenience of
worship. She was one of the founders of Tirzah; and
the younger sister of A. J. NESBIT. Her husband, all her children and
grandchildren except Sanford, son of H. WILSON Esq., preceded her into
the spiritual world.…

Co., N. C. on the 27th ult., John WALKER, Esq. in the 78th year of his
age. … in early life connected himself with the
congregation worshipping at Tirzah. He was three
times married and raised a tolerably numerous family. … A few days before his
death he walked out to the graveyard which was near, in company with Mrs. WALKER,
and was observed to contemplate with more than usual solemnity, the last
resting place of loved ones, till at length struggling emotion vented itself in
a flood of tears. He then remarked to Mrs. WALKER, “I have been three
times married have lived about 11 years with each of my wives; I now think our
separation is near.”
