| John R. Shroyer, son of Daniel and
Esther (Lambert) Shroyer enlisted November 4, 1948 and
entered the U.S. Navy. September 23, 1951 transferred to U.S. Marines and assigned to the 1st Marine Division in Korea. October 1951 sent to Korea where he saw action with the 1st Marine Division until October 1952. He received a letter of commendation for activities in S.E. North Korea and N.E. South Korea.
