Home of Dr. J.G. Wheeler

 

 

This house located near the end of Dawes street on the north side was once the home of Dr. James G. Wheeler. He and his wife Minerva lived next door to Dr. James T. Gholson and wife Celeste Louisa (Dawes) and was young Dr. Gholson's sponsor during medical school. Only an alley seperated the two houses. Dr. Gholson practiced until his untimely death in 1882. Dr. J. G. Wheeler was still living here at turn of the century. In 1900 he was listed as President of the Village Board. (" Dr. James G.
