FARMER'S PRAYER

Lord give me strength and wisdom To cultivate the fields, And give me showers and sunshine That I might gather yields.

And let me, Lord, feel useful, That by my own two hands, I might help stop the starving throughout the far-flung lands.

And hellp me to be humble, And very thankful be, That I might live with Nature, And ever close to Thee!

THE KILDEER

Oh bless the man who finds the time While working with his plow, To pass the little Kildeer's nest And make it safe somehow.

'Twas God who made both bird and Man, We know not why nor how, The one He made to nest the fields, The other one to plow.

And as she flutters from her nest To lead you far astray, 'Twas He who put the instinct there To save her nest this day.

Since He saw fit to put her there To make the fields less bare, Let's do our best to help preserve The things left in our care.
