CHARLES LAWSON HEIMBEAUGH
C. L. Heimbeaugh was born December, 1869 in DeKalb Co., MO the son of
William Harrison Heimbaugh (b. 1833 OH; d.
1904 DeKalb Co., MO) and Lovina Snyder Williams (b. 1842 IN; d. unknown).
C. L. died 1922, in Camden
County and is buried in the Laughlin Cemetery just outside of Camdenton.
On August 6, 1888, in DeKalb Co., MO Charles Lawson Heimbeaugh married
Minnie Hesser Gibson born December 9,
1873 in DeKalb County the daughter of Daniel Raleigh Gibson (b. May
26, 1846 KY; d. May 15, 1934 Camden Co., MO)
and Hannah Malinda Bolin (b. Aug. 20, 1850 KY; d. Feb. 25, 1914 Camden
Co., MO). C. L. and Minnie had eleven
children, Sarah Cartha, William Daniel, Stirla Ann, Erma Hester, Floyd
Sylvester, Inez Laverta, Walter, Lee Roy,
Oma Lucille, Virginia, and Sylvia.
C. L. and Minnie moved from DeKalb Co., to Camden Co. between January,
1892 and 1895, where they remained the rest
of their lives. There are many of this family who are still living
in Camden County, and the name is well known. He was a
craftsman and an excellent musician. His oldest daughter (my grandmother)
has told me many stories about home music
sessions, and how much her Daddy enjoyed the children, although he
was very strict in his own right. She also remembered
making the trip from DeKalb Co., MO to Camden Co in a covered wagon
all those years ago.
