EMLENTON WOMAN DIES AFTER
ONE-CAR ACCIDENT

An 81-year-old Emlenton woman was pronounced dead at Northwest
Medical Center following a one-vehicle traffic accident that
occurred
at 3:20 p.m. Monday on route 322 in Rockland Township, state
police at
Seneca said.
It is not clear if the victim, Josephine V. DeLong, died as a
result of injuries she sustained in the accident or if she
suffered a
heart attack prior to the accident, police said.
An autopsy will be performed by Erie forensic pathologist Eric
Vey to determine the exact cause of death, Venango County
Coroner John
Greggs said.
Police said DeLongs vehicle was traveling east when it crossed
the westbound lane and hit a utility pole on the north berm
about five
miles east of Cranberry.
"It appeared she had some kind of episode to make her car cross
the road and hit the pole," Greggs said.
The Christopher M. Hile Funeral Home in Emlenton is in charge
of
the arrangements.
