- School 40 School 40 was first opened in 1887
in a new building at 245 Oneida Street close to Fillmore Avenue to
help accommodate the large East Side population growth. An addition
was built in 1922. In 1970 a completely new school was built close
to the old one but facing a different street, thereby changing the
school address to 89 Clare Street. The above was adapted from the
Buffalo Public School History by G. Morton Weed, published 2001.
It also contains a list of the principals of the school, but doesn't give
the years that they served. Old pupil records from the Buffalo schools
are not preserved.
- Fosdick Masten High School
put together by City Honors High School as a history project.
Masten Park High School, from Schools of Buffalo, edited by J. Henry Wood, published 1899 by the publisher, Mrs. Ida C. Wood.
School 123 Sharon Centanne has a nice page in memory of School 23.
