BOGDONOFF: From Russia/Poland border to Lowell, Massachusetts
My husband is the third of three Philip BOGDONOFFs. Philip the First was born in 1898 in Somerville, MA and died in 1954 in Springfield, MA. He was the son of Benjamin BOGDONOFF and Leah HALPERN, Jewish immigrants who'd left the Russia/Poland border area in the mid-1880s and went first to England. Their first three children were born there, according to the US census records, although no record of their birth in England has been found. They arrived in Boston by 1895 and had a few more children. They were peddlers and later opened a market, in which all of the children seemed to be involved. While the BOGDONOFFs appear to have raised their children Jewish, their son Philip I married a Swedish Lutheran, Neila Marie PETERSON (1900-1961). That's them to the right, with their two children, Cynthia and Philip, Jr. I am seeking to find living descendants of all of the children of Benjamin and Leah (Halpern) Bogdonoff. Here's what I know:
