History Supplied By Catherine Generoux to Fay Anderson, Letter of May 19, 1986, Simcoe Ont. RR#4

1) Will enclosed - Risel Gage an executor and I feel who made up this will was Catherine Generaux's husband & my Grandfather. Russell was quite an intelligent man with some education.

2) Francis G.'s wife was Mary (Polly) Smith and you have the lineage back to 1747. I have a tape & there is one in our Simcoe museum of Crowell Smith's tapes.

3) La Fayette, Marquis de, 1757-1834. He was a French General, a revolutionist and statesman. He outfitted a regiment of French soldiers and fought on the side of the Americans in the American Revolution.

The three brothers Gererouxs were soldiers under him - Antoine, Pierre and Francis (1775-83) came to Quebec Canada. He could have been Francis's father.

Have some info. from Norman Temple L.A. & from National Library of Ottawa re Gereroux's, if you would like it.

4) I Have no info. re Margaret Traynor, only the name, Have heard somewhere, he had one child by her.

5) Am afraid I don't know what you mean by A.G.S. on siblings of Catherine Eve. Catherine Eve was my Gradmother & I have family charts on all of her chilfdren, if you like.

etc.
