My Gardner Ancestors

New stuff: 3rd great grandmother Adaline Gardner was a Mayflower descendant through her grandmother, Rachel Glover Gardner. See My Mayflower Ancestors page.

Adaline Gardner was the second daughter of Levi William Gardner and Lydia Stickney. She was born 13 December 1814. She married Daniel Dibble Fenn 28 March 1835 and had the following children: Oscar A. Fenn, born 25 June 1836; Edward J. Fenn, born 13 November 1838; Mary E. Fenn, born 17 August 1846; and Emma K. Fenn, born in 1852. Oscar A. Fenn is one of my 16 second great grandparents.

I have information about Levi William Gardner's ancestors, recently discovered in the LDS genenalogy site. He was born 19 September 1785 in NH, to Levi Gardner and Rachel Glover. The info states both Levi's parents were born in Nantucket, MA, in 1758 and 1761, respectively. Based on the book History of Medina County and Ohio, (Baskin & Battey - 1881), Page 734 has details on E.A. (Elisha) Branch and wife Sarah S. Gardner (see below). The biographical sketch states Sarah's parents were from New England. Lydia Stickey was born in NH, so...

LDS Pedigree Chart info: Levi William Gardner - L6FP-298. Lydia Stickney - KNZX-D2H. A link is in the sources below. You can follow the lines back from there.

See my graves page for an image of the recently replaced marker of Daniel D. and Adaline Gardner Fenn, and Levi and Lydia Stickney Gardner. Thanks to cousin Anita for the pic and the grave marker pic.

Levi William "L.W." Gardner, Lydia Stickney Gardner, their son William H. and his wife, Elizabeth Branch, Levi & Lydia's daughter Sarah S. Gardner Branch and her husband, Elisha, are buried in the Branch Cemetery, York Township, Medina County, OH. Mary A. Branch, wife of Levi Branch, listed on this page as living with Elisha A. and Sarah S. Gardner Branch, is also buried in the Branch Cemetery.

I need to research another burial listing for Branch Cemetery, namely Abigail Stickney, wife of Cleveland Stickney. Cleveland might be related to Lydia Stickney Gardner, since her grandmother was Sarah Cleveland and one of Lydia's daughters was named Sarah. They are on the same page in the 1850 Census, so it's likely that with the names and NY births, that they are related.
