Leatham's Launch
Moses Martin Sanders
, son of David Sanders and Mary Allred, was born August 17, 1803, in Franklin
County, Georgia. He married Amanda Armstrong Faucett, of Maury County,
Tennessee. Moses Martin was the grandson of the Reverend Moses Sanders
who was born in 1742 in England.
Moses Martin was
baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on January
28, 1835, and ordained a Seventy on May 6, 1839 at Quincy, Adams, Il.
Moses Martin Sanders was a member of the Nauvoo Third ward, and endowed at
the Nauvoo Temple on Jan. 3, 1846.
Moses owned
property near the home of the Prophet Joseph Smith on Partridge, Water, and
Lumber Streets.
Moses came to
Utah in 1848, and was buried in St. George, Utah, November 8, 1878.
