Their were a total of eleven different boats with the name of COLUMBIA between 1845 and 1915, I believe the photos on this page are of the boat built in 1893 and the one built in 1903. This COLUMBIA ran as a Packet Boat from 1893 to 1905 when she was sold to tow the showboat TEMPLE OF AMUSEMENT, the COLUMBIA sank in 1908 while towing the showboat. The photo below shows the COLUMBIA and TEMPLE OF AMUSEMENT at Elizabeth, PA . JW writes in his journal during June 1907 that he does some repair work to the COLUMBIA and I will make an assumption that this could of been when the photo below was taken. |
