The MARK WINNETT was built in Brownsville, PA during 1881 and worked
primarily in the Pittsburgh area until 1899 when she sank in
Cincinnati. Captain Robert Eberhart of Elizabeth, PA is
listed as being a watchman on this boat when the boat was moved from
Pittsburgh to Cincinnati in 1899, this was probably one of his early
jobs working on a riverboat. This picture is from the
collection of Captain Eberhart and the writing on the picture must
indicate the name of the Captain of the boat in 1897 and an
assumption could be that Eberhart was working on the boat in 1897. |
