Various entries 1915 and 1916 

The Steamer Harry Brown sunk in the Mississippi River, November 1915, high water came and wrecked her, total loss.

Steamboats condemned and in the bone yard December 1915: Pacific #2 - J. A. Donaldson - Clipper-Little Fred - Cadet - Wash Honshell - John A. Wood - Alice Brown - Voyager - Sam Clarke -Pittsburgh -Robert Jenkins - Duquesne

The Steamer Sam Brown exploded her boilers and sunk February 2, 1916 at Huntington, West Virginia. Killed 10 men and some others badly hurt, those killed and whom I knew: Captain Lew Blair - Engineer Perry Wilson-Stewart William Hyser - Cook Chas Shaffer, all killed out right. The mate Ben Williams was out on the head of the tow and escaped.

The same day February 2, 1916 at Parkersburg, West Virginia the Steamer Lorena was burnt to the water and the same day at Point Pleasant, West Virginia the Packet Ohio burnt to a total loss.

The Marine Ways sawmill partly burnt November 22, 1902, after a hard fight it was put out. This is the second time I saw this mill burnt. You will find on page 46 about the third one and the fourth one is in front of this page, two back, the first one was in July 11, 1869.
